New Balance Toning Collection

June 22, 2010 11:54 by JCahill
The New Balance truebalance toning collection.
It's like a support group that you don't have to coordinate your schedule with.  Made with a unique balance board technology the New Balance toning collection turns a simple walk into a continuous activation of your  muscles from your legs to your glutes to your core. This activation increases the burning of calories and isn't that why we do it? We put ourselves through rigorous workouts and long grueling routines to burn off that milkshake before the weekend hits us and we start all over again. The great thing about this new line is that the workout is incognito. No one has to know you're burning extra calories while you shop for oranges and eggs and drop that candy bar in your cart as well. No one has to know you're toning your calf muscles as you shop for a new pair of jeans. The New Balance 850 and the New Balance 1100 have so much style no one would suspect they're part of a toning collection. It's like doing butt crunches at your desk in a Versace dress.

National Running Day 2010

June 2, 2010 12:51 by JCahill

Hit the road Jack.. and Jill!! Today, June 2nd 2010, is National Running Day. So whether it's 5 miles or 5 minutes, slip on your shoes and Run! According to legend the first competitive running in ancient Greece took place in the year 776 BCE on Mount Olympus. From that point on humans have been raising their feet off the ground one step at a time and picking up the pace. It's not just a past time or a hobby, it's a physical activity that can be used to strengthen your entire core. It's also a passion thriving on benefits. Some benefits of running include potential weight loss, improved cardiovascular health, increased muscle mass, increased bone density, and an improved emotional state. Following a consistent routine of running can increase HDL levels, reducing the risks of cardiovascular disease. Running, like all forms of regular exercise, can effectively slow or reverse the effects of aging. We can't all be as fast as Usain Bolt, currently holding the world records for both 100 and 200m, but we can all benefit from a little physical activity! So even if you prefer a slower pace, some may call it 'walking', take advantage of some time today and honor National Running Day.
